Veracruz was the most important port of the New World. From its docks, thousands of galleons loaded with precious goods set sail toward the Spanish Crown. But the sea was unforgiving, and many of those ships never completed their journey, lost to storms and treacherous waters.

In Veracruz 1631, players take on the role of ambitious merchants competing for profit. Your goal is to load valuable goods—gold, silver, corn, and cacao—onto three mighty galleons: El Juncal, Santa Teresa, and San Antonio, always acting in your own commercial interest. At the same time, you’ll do everything you can to discreetly get rid of the King’s mail, which may prove more trouble than it’s worth…

Gameplay Overview

On your turn, you must choose one of the following actions:

1. Bet on a Galleon
Place a betting card (Reach Port or Sunken Galleon) face down in the betting area of one of the ships, predicting its fate.

2. Load a Galleon
Add your cargo boxes to a galleon, carefully maintaining its balance by matching the goods to your secret investment.
⚠️ Be careful—if a galleon’s imbalance value is equal to or greater than the final meteorology value, the ship sinks!

Tension builds as players push their luck, bluff their intentions, and manipulate the fate of the galleons. Will your ship reach port safely… or disappear beneath the waves?
